Term | Definition |

Skeletal System | Gives your body structure and protects yours organs |
Muscular System | Allows your body to move |
Digestive System | Breaks down food so it can be used by the body |
Respiratory System | Takes in oxygen from the air |
Nervous System | Controls all of the other systems in the body |
Circulatory System | Carries oxygen, food, and waste throughout the body |
Arteries | Carry oxygen rich blood throughout your body |
Veins | Carries blood back to the heart |
Heart | Pumps blood through blood vessels |
Esophagus | A tube that is connected to the stomach |
Stomach | Mixes food with chemicals to break it down |
Small Intestine | Absorbs nutrients from food |
Large Intestine | Absorbs water from food |
Brain | Collects information and makes decisions |
Spinal Cord | Main pathway for messages between the brain and the rest of the body |
Nerves | Carry messages from inside or outside the body |
Muscles | Pull the bones to produce movement |
Trachea | Moves air down your throat |
Multicellular | an organism made up of more than one cell |
System | a group of parts that work together |
Cell | the smallest part of a living thing that can carry out all the processes of life |
