---|---|
What is the Cell Membrane? | The cell membrane keeps the contents of the cell inside. |
What is the Cytosol? | The cytosol is the fluid that is the transport system of the cell. |
What is the Nucleus? | The Nucleus contains the DNA. It is also the control center for the cell. |
What is the Ribosome? | The ribosomes clamp themselves around RNA, it collects different amino acids and makes strands of protein. Ribosomes are located on the rough endoplasmic reticulum. |
What is the Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum? | The rough endoplasmic reticulum tells the ribosomes which amino acids to collect and it extrudes protein. |
What is the Golgi Complex? | The Golgi complex processes the protein through the different layers. |
What is the Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum? | The smooth endoplasmic reticulum has no ribosomes, it processes the complex lipids, fats and oils. |
What is the Mitochondria? | The mitochondria converts sugar to ATP which is energy for cells. It is the cite of cellular respiration. |
What are Lysosomes? | Lysosomes float in cytosols. They eat the molecules that shouldn't be there. They recycle waste material. |
What is the Cytoskeleton? | The cytoskeleton helps the cell keep its shape. it contracts like muscles so that the cell can move. They provide a guide for thins travelling through cytosol. |
What are Chloroplasts? | Chloroplasts are only found in plant cells, they contain chlorophyll which uses energy from sunlight. |
What are Large Vacuole? | Large Vacuoles are filled with water. |
