What occurs during photosynthesis? cells capture energy in sunlight and use it t make food
What are autotrophs? they are producers and create their own food
What are heterotrophs? they are consumers and eat their own food; they are decomposers and absorb food after breaking it down
What happens during stage 1 of photosynthesis? chloroplasts use chlorophyll (a pigment) to absorb sunlight; the sunlight rearranges carbon dioxid and water
What happens during stage 2 of photosynthesis? cells produce sugar; carbon dioxide and water are rearranged into glucose and oxygen
What are the reactants of photosynthesis? carbon dioxide and water
What are the products of photosynthesis? glucose and oxygen
What is glucose used for? used for food and energy; used to make cellulose; stored as energy for later use
