Synergize
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Value differences | Valuing differences is about more than race or gender, and enriches your life experiences. |
| Synergy | A principle, a natural law. The whole is greater than some of its parts. You can pick a lot more apples from a tall tree if you sit on someones shoulders. |
| Negative Synergy | People that are great individually, but together they bring out the worst in each other. Lacking chemistry. |
| Positive Synergy | Two people carrying double the weight of one individual. Helping bring the best out in each other. |
| Go for the 3rd alternative | There is always a new and better solution to any problem, and synergy can get you there. |
| 2nd alternative thinking | "My team against yours" |
| 3rd alternative thinking | Instead of throwing the towel and giving up, you think of a solution that is better than anything you could've imagined. |
| Step 1: Define the problem | Make sure you understand the real problem. |
| Step 2: Listen to their views | Let everyone talk until they feel "heard". |
| Step 3: Share your views | Feel free to share your best thinking with others. Expand their ideas. |
| Step 4: Brainstorm | Let everyone brainstorm which means generating ideas without stopping to judge or reject them. |
| Step 5: Choose the best idea | Consider all of the ideas everyone has shared, build on them and eventually a superior idea or solution will emerge. |
