How is sedimentary rock formed? | Sedimentary - sediments that are layed down by water or some other agent. |

What is an angular unconformity? | An unconformity where the rock strata below it are tilted relative to the rock strata above. |
What is a nonconformity? | When sedimentary rock rests atop of igneous or metamorphic rock, the unconformity that lies between them is called a nonconformity. |
If an unconformity exists between two parallel strata of sedimentary rock what kind of unconformity is it? | It is a disconformity. |
How is igneous rock formed? | It is formed from molten rock (magma; from a volcano) that hardens. |
How is metamorphic rock formed? | It is formed by undergoing change usually caused by heat and/or pressure. Both sedimentary and igneous rock can form metamorphic rock. Typically very hard. |
