sterile | extremely clean, germ-free conditions; especially important during medical procedures and surgery. |
medial | towards the middle. |
chief complaint | the main reason for a patient's visit. |
PERRLA | pupils are equal, round and reactive to light and accommodation. |
pathogen | the organism that causes the problem. |
palliative | treating the symptoms, but not actually getting rid of the cause. |
ausculation | to listen. |
anatomic position | person standing facing forward, arms at the side with palms forward (used to describe directions on the human body) |
surgeon | a physician qualified to treats patients surgically, that is, by means of operation or invasive procedure. |
