Agricultural Extension: An Intervention for Sustainable Development

What is the function of Agricultural Extension? Providing need- and demand-based knowledge in agronomic techniques and skills to rural communities in a systematic, participatory manner, with the objective of improving their production, income, and (by implication) quality of life.
What is Agricultural Extension? Service/system which assist farm people, through educational procedures, in improving farming methods&techniques, increasing production efficiency and income, bettering their levels of living, and lifting the social and educational standards of rural life
What does Agricultural Extension seeks? To help farmers analyze their problems and bring these problems to the attention of the scientists so that solutions may be found.
What may be considered in different forms and was defined in several ways? Extension
Extension is a process of discovering and analyzing day-to-day problems and finding solutions based on available information. On who's point of view is this? Farmers and fisherfolks
Who's point of view that states extension as the conduct of research to solve agricultural problems and finding practical solutions based on available information Agricultural Scientists
Views extension as means of bringing results of research& technology to farmers as quickly&effectively as possible;teaching them to apply actual farm practices through a planned program in the form easy to understand&to assimilate by farmers/fisherfolk. Extension Education that has a main job of bridging the gap between scientists and farmers.
