Endometriosis | Endometrial tissue located outside of the uterus |
Uterine Fibroids | Benign tumors in the uterus or mucosal lining of the uterus |
Ovarian Carcinoma | Malignant tumors in of the ovaries |
Ovarian Cysts | Collections of fluids within a sac |
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease | Examples; salpingitis, oophoritis, endometritis caused by sexually transmitted diseases |
Carcinoma of the Breasts | Malignant tumor of the breasts |
Fibrocystic Disease | Inflamed fibers in the breast |
Abruptio Placenta | Premature separation of the the normally implanted placenta |
Choriocarcinoma | Malignant tumor of the placenta |
Ectopic Pregnancy | Misplaced implantation of an egg |
Placenta Previa | A condition that develops during pregnancy where the placenta covers the Cervix |
Pre-Eclampsia | A condition where your blood has trouble producing platelets causing high blood pressure and higher risk pregnancies |
Down Syndrome | Genetic disorder associated with physical growth delays with characteristic facial features, developmental and intellectual disabilities |
Erythroblastosis | Abnormal presence of immature RBC's in the bloodstream which causes mothers white cells to attack the baby thinking its a foreign body |
Hayline Membrane Disease | A condition in newborns where the lungs are deficient in surfactant which prevents expansion of the lungs |
Hydrocephalus | Condition caused by excessive fluid build up in the fluid filled parts of your brain causing developmental and intellectual deficits |
Meconium Aspiration Syndrome | breathing problems usually baby would have inhaled fluid and Meconium is the 1st stool from baby after birth |
Pyloric Stenosis | Narrowing of the outlet of the stomach; it usually results in feeding problems and projectile vomiting (in baby's) |
Pap- Smear | Pelvic examination involving the vaginal canal, cervix and uterus; usually they take a biopsy of your cervix in the examine to check for abnormalities |
Pregnancy Tests | There are 2 types of tests blood tests; which looks for the hCG hormone in your blood or a urine test; this also tests for the hCG hormone but in your urine instead |
Hysterosalpingography | Examination of the uterus and fallopian tubes by radiography after the injection of a dye or fluid to view them |
Mammography | The process of recording usually by x-ray, this usually shows the tissues in your breasts to see if there are any abnormalities can also be conducted after they find an abnormality to get a better look |
Breast Ultrasound/MRI | tests to view the breasts by soundwaves or magnetic waves to for a picture usually shows the tissue within the breasts |
Pelvic Ultrasound | a picture/process of imaging using soundwaves and is usually conducted on pregnant women or to view uterine lining, cervix, and uterus; these can also detect fetal abnormalities or uterine/ovarian |
Conization | Removal of a cone-shaped section of the cervix |
Laparoscopic Oophorectomy | ovary is placed in a plastic bag and extracted through the laparoscope |
Amniocentesis | needle puncture into the amniotic sac the fetus is in and is guided by ultrasonic imaging to collect/ remove a sample of fluid |
Hydrocele | Sac of fluid in the scrotum |
Testicular Torsion | Twisted Spermatic cord |
Varicocele | Dilated Sperm Veins |
Hypospadias | Surgical repair involving an exceeding portion of the prepuce, wrapping it around the catheters, suturing it to the distal part of the urethra bringing it to the end of the penis |
Chlamydia Infection | A sexually transmitted bacterial infection that's presented mostly in young women but is found at any age and affects any gender; it can present with 0 symptoms |
Gonorrhea | Sexually transmitted bacterial infection that often affects the urethra, rectum, and throat |
Genital Herpes | A disease characterized by blisters on/in the genitalia area caused by a variety of herpes simplex virus |
Human Papilloma Virus/HPV | A viral infection that common causes skin or mucous membrane growths (Warts); over 100 varieties and some types can cause cancer |
Syphilis | A highly Contagious sexually transmitted bacterial infection characterized by painless sores on the genitals, rectum, or mouth |
PSA Test | A blood test that screens for the amount of prostate specific antigen/ protein in your blood that causes prostate cancer |
Semen Analysis | A lab test of a sample of semen to evaluate male fertility |
TURP(Transurethral Resection of the Prostate) | a surgery to remove the inside part of the prostate gland and a resectoscope is used to preform this |
Vasectomy | Surgical cutting and sealing of a part of each vas deferens and is typically used as a form of sterilization and totally reversible |
