Think Win-Win

Win-Lose high on courage, low on consideration; can only win if others lose
Lose-Win low on courage, high on consideration; typically insecure and cant stand up for themselves
Lose-Lose if you cant win nobody can
Win-Win balance of courage and consideration; everyone wins or no one wins
Ideal ratio of courage and consideration balanced
Find others deposit figure out what makes the person happier vs what could cause them to withdrawal
Small acts of kindness treat others with kindness, be polite and inviting
Keep promises if you make a promise keep it, no one wants to be friends with some one who cannot keep their word
Keep confidences don't share others secrets, if a person gives you their confidence don't break it
Be loyal to the absent don't gossip or badmouth behind another's back
Set clear expectations Don't be vague or fuzzy, draw lines a follow through with them
Apologize if you are wrong admit it, own it; excuses push people away
Forgive Don't hold on to grudges, forgiving someone is the best way for no one to keep getting hurt
