Which valves are located in the heart? The atrioventricular, pulmonary semilunar, bicuspid and aortic semilunar
What are the four basic tissues that the human body is composed of? Epithelial, Muscle, Nerve and Connective
What is the Sagittal plane? A vertical plane dividing the body into left and right
What is the Frontal plane? A vertical plane dividing the body into front and back
What is the Transverse plane? A horizontal plane dividing the body into top and bottom
What does the Thoracic cavity contain? The heart
What is an example of a disorder that is developmental? Cerebral palsy
What is an example of a degenerative disease? Parkinson's disease
What is the role of the urinary system? To collect urine from the kidneys for storage and elimination
What does the liver produce? The liver produces the bile that is stored in the gallbladder
What is the role of the Endocrine system? To compromise the glands and other tissues that produce hormones
What is an example of a Neoplastic disease? Lung cancer
Where is the Pituitary gland located? At the base of the brain, outside the cranium
Where is the parathyroid gland located? Behind the thyroid
What is Diabetes mellitus? The lack of insulin production
What is Graves disease? Excess thyroid hormone
What is one example of a Reproductive system disorder? Sperm malformaton
What is Pelvic inflammatory disease? Infections in the pelvic region that cause infertility,; can be caused by Chlamydia
What is an example of a lymph node? The tonsils
What is the role of the Mitochondria? To burn sugar and fat with oxygen to supply energy for the cell
What is Hemostasis? The process in which blood vessels are repaired after injury
