reflect | to bounce off without absorbing (no change) |
spectrum | a range of wavelengths |
transmit | to pass through (no change) |
ultraviolet | a type of invisible light that is beyond violet on the spectrum |
visualize | to form a mental picture of something that cannot be seen |
wave | a pattern that describes how energy is carried from one place to another |
waveform | a curved line that shows the characteristics of a wave |
wavelength | the distance from one peak of a wave to the next |
qualitative data | descriptions of the natural world using words |
quantitative data | descriptions of the natural world using numbers |
sound wave | a vibration caused by collision of particles |
speed | how fast an object is moving |
refract | waves bend or scatter |
