21. parenchyma functional tissues of any organ, such as the tissues of the bronchioles, alveoli, ducts, and sacs, that perform respiration
22. caseous necrosis degeneration and death of tissue with a cheese-like appearance
23. expectoration coughing up and spitting out of material from the lungs
24. cytic fibrosis inherited condition of exocrine gland malfunction causing secretion of abnormally thick, viscous mucus that obstructs passageways within the body, commonly affecting the lungs nd digestive tract.
25. croup acute respiratory infection in infants and young children involving the larynx, trachea, and bronchi causing inflammation
26. pneumohemothorax air and blood in the pleural cavity
27. sleep apnea periods of breathing cessation that occurs during sleep, often resulting in snoring
28. lung biopsy removal of a small piece of lung tissue for pathologic examination
29. pneumonectomy removal of an entire lung
30. thoracotomy incision into the chest
