Other properties of Matter how hard or soft it is, how it looks, sounds, tastes, or smells
Solid It has a fixed volume and shape
Liquid Has no fixed shape, takes the shape of the container that it is in, Has a fixed Volume
Gas Its particles move in all directions has no shape and no fixed volume
Physical Change occurs when matter changes one or more of its physicals properties Examples Changes in state are physical changes they are reversible.
Chemical Change occurs when one type of matter combines with another to become something that has a completly different structure. Example Burning Wood
evaporate when a liquid turns into a gas
condensing gas turns into a liquid
melting solid turns into a liquid
freezing when a liquid turns to a solid
conductivity the ability of matter to carry heat, sound or electricity
property a characteristic or quality that describes matter
Matter is everything that takes up space and has mass
Weight the amount of force pulling on the object by gravity (your weight will be different on differnet planets, but your mass will stay the same)
