Nuclear Families Consist of two parents and their children living under one roof.
Extended Families Consist of the Nuclear family and other close families living under one room.
Maternal Infant bonding is: Essential for a infants sense of security.
Growth The physical changes that can be measured and occur in a steady and orderly manner.
Prejudice Is defined as unfair treatment of people based on their group membership.
Developmental task of an adolescent: Accepting changes in their body, accepting appropriate female/male roles for age, developing morals, attitudes and values.
Integrity vs Despair Stage of development 65 yeaars and older. Defined as looking back on life with either satisfaction or disappointment.
Definition of disability: A loss or change in mental or physical function.
What life activities are limited for a person with developmental disabilities? Ability to self direct, live independently, care for themselves, be economically self sufficient, and the ability to learn.
What is the definition of culture? Shared characteristics such as language, beliefs, values and customs.
What are factors that affect how basic needs are met? Financial, cultural, environmental, mental illness, neglect and disabilities.
Developmental stages/ tasks of young adulthood: persuing further education, career, parenthood, partner or relationships and a satisfying sex life.
Developmental stages/tasks of middle adulthood: adjusting to physical changes, aging parents, developing hobbies and grow children.
