TermDefinition
Aids A disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus. (HIV)
Biofeedback A process whereby electronic monitoring of a normally automatic bodily function is used to train someone to acquire voluntary control of that function.
Chlamydia A very small bacterium which, like a virus, requires the biochemical mechanism of another cell in order to reproduce.
Genital Warts A small growth occurring in the anal or genital areas, caused by spread especially by sexual contact.
Gonorrhea A sexually transmitted bacterial infection that, if untreated, may cause infertility
Herpes Any of the group of viral diseases caused by herpes, affecting the skin or the nervous system.
Imagery Visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in a literary work.
Progressive relaxation A method of deep muscle relaxation that does not involve any medication, meaning it is a non-pharmacological intervention.
Stress A state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation.
Syphilis A chronic bacterial disease that is contacted chiefly by infection during intercourse, but also congenitally by infection of a developing fetus.
Explain STD’s signs, symptoms, and treatments A rash, pain when peeing, and skin growths are some signs of STDs. Antibiotic can help treat the stds.
