Identification | Idenitfication occurs when someone conforms to the demands of a given social role in society. This type of confirmity extends over several aspects of externmal behaviour. However three still be no change to internal personal opinion |
Internalization | Publicly changing behaviour to fit in with the group while also agreeing privately. An internal & external change of behaviour. This is the deepest level of conformity where the beliefs of the group become part of the individuals own belief system |
Obedience | Obedience is a form of social influence where an individual acts in response to a direct order from another individual who is usually and authority figure. It is assumed hat without such an order the person would no have acted this way |
Conformity | is a type of social influence involving a change in belief or behaviour in order to fit in with a group This change is in response to real (physical presence) or imagined (pressure of social norms/ expectations) group pressure |
