Observation Simplest scientific technique, observe behavior with no intervention.
Cons of Observation Potential for bias and subjectivity.
Bias Any influence that unfairly increases the possibility that we will reach a particular conclusion.
Naturalistic Observation Observing and recording behavior in naturally occurring situations without manipulating or controlling the situation.
Confirmation Bias the tendency to focus on information that supports preconceptions
Participant Bias the tendency for research participants to behave in a certain way because they know they are being observed or they believe they know what the researcher wants.
