ACT Reading

QuestionAnswer
What is skimming? Skimming is speed reading with little to no comprehension.
What is scanning? Scanning means to search for specific information as your eyes move over the text.
What is speed reading? Speed reading is reading at a quick pace with great comprehension.
What is annotating? Annotating is highlighting or underlining important information in the text in order to help the reader remember.
What is the main idea? The main idea is what the text is about. You can find the main idea by looking for key details within the text.
What are key details? Key details are pieces of information used to find the main idea in a text.
