Term | Definition |

A. Win-Lose | High in courage but low in consideration. You can't win unless other people lose. |
B. Lose-Win | Low on courage and high on consideration. You always have a victim mentality and are looking for empathy. You get taken advantage of. |
C. Lose-Lose | Low in courage and consideration. You pull others down if you start to go down. You are selfish and don't want others to succeed when you are not succeeding. |
D. Win-Win or No Deal | High in courage and consideration. You want everyone to win, or you quit before someone truly loses even when that person is you. You are selfless and don't just put yourself first, instead you do what is right and walk away before someone loses. |
1. Find Out What a Deposit Is for the Other Person | Make sure what you do effects and connects with all people because a skewed perspective could cause a disconnect and no deposit into their Emotional Bank Account. |
2. Do Small Acts of Kindness | Be kind to others and build connections with people instead of being negative and disrespective. |
3. Keep Promises | Nothing effects someone's Emotional Bank Account more than a serious promise being broken. Therefore, be good to your word and what promises you make. |
4. Keep Confidence | Keep information given in confidence instead of spreading that information because it can cause humiliation or serious trouble. |
5. Be Loyal to the Absent | Don't gossip or talk behind someone's back. Because if you do it could make everyone question if you do the same to them weakening you trust between one another. |
6. Set Clear expectations | Don't leave things fuzzy. Also follow through with expectations, instead of just making them suggestions. |
7. Apologize | If you are in the wrong admit it. Don't wait or make excuses which could lead to other issues. |
8. Forgive | Learn to forgive and forget so you don't keep beating yourself down. |
Balance Courage and Consideration(A-D) | Build effective relationships with people by working for their benefits as well as your own. |
Make Deposits in Othe People's Emotional Bank Accounts(1-8) | Make deposits of kindness and helpfulness into other people's Emotional Bank Accounts. This makes it easier to make new friends and build strong relationships. |
