Map a flat, 2-dimensional drawing of land or water
Globe a spherical scale model of the Earth
Latitude geographic coordinates that specifies the north or south of the Equator
Longitude distance measured in degrees east or west from an imaginary line (called the prime meridian) that goes from the North pole to the south pole and passes through Greenwich, England
Hemisphere a half of the earth usually divided into northern and southern halves by the equator or into western and eastern halves by an imaginary line passing through the poles
Weather the state of the atmosphere at a place and time as regards heat, dryness, sunshine, wind, and precipitation
Climate the average weather conditions in an area over a long period
Condensation a process of changing a gas to a liquid
Cirrus white wispy clouds that form at high altitudes and are always made of ice crystals
Hygrometer an instrument for measuring the humidity of the air or a gas.
rain noun moisture condensed from the atmosphere that falls visibly in separate drops
sea breeze A local wind that blows from the sea to the land at night
land breeze A local wind that blows from the land to the sea during the day time
Anemometer measure wind speed
weather vane measures wind direction
Global wind wind that are high up in the atmosphere
prevailing winds Wind that are in the west
trade winds wind that are near the equator
polar easterlies Wind that is near the east
Jet stream A river of air high in the atmosphere
High Pressure Clear good weather
Low Pressure Gloomy weather precipitation
Barometer A Tool that measures air pressure
Air pressure The weight of air pressing down on everything around it
Cold Front Strong wind brings thunderstorms
Warm Front Warmer More humid light wind
