weather a specific event—like a rainstorm or hot day—that happens over a few hours, days or weeks
climate The weather found in a certain place over a long period of time

Cirrus Clouds high feathery clouds
hygrometer The instruments used to measure the humidity
Map a drawing of all or part of Earth's surface
globe a spherical model of Earth
Cumulonimbus (storm clouds) large, tall clouds that are dark on the bottom, bring thunderstorms, have a fuzzy outline toward the upper part of the cloud and may have a flat top called an anvil
Cirrocumulus high-altitude cloud form consisting of small white rounded masses usually in regular groupings.
Stratocumulus condensed water droplets.
Cirrostratus a fairly even high cloud layer that is darker than cirrus.
Nimbostratus (steady rain) Nimbostratus clouds are low-hanging, dark gray clouds that block the sun completely. They make steady rain or snow, but not thunderstorms or lightning. They form at warm fronts from altostratus clouds that sink lower to the ground and get thicker.

anemometer an instrument that measures wind speed
wind vane an instrument that can measure wind direction
coriolis effect the apparent acceleration of a moving body on or near the Earth as a result of the Earth's rotation

polar eastarlies dry and cold prevailing winds that blow from the east.
air pressure the weight of air molecules pressing down on the Earth
barometer an instrument used to measure air pressure.
Low pressure when warm air rises up to make clouds and rain. (Lousy)
High pressure air molecules are held down resulting in clear, sunny days.
cold front when the cold air mass takes over the warm air mass, causing it go up into the atmosphere.
warm front when a warm air mass takes over a cold air mass, leaving warm air
