TermDefinition
Efficiency Efficiency is the ratio of useful output NG to input NG.
Energy transformation Energy transformation takes place when energy changes from one form to another.
Law of conservation of energy During a change, the Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed.
Kinetic theory of matter The Kinetic Theory of Matter states that ALL particles that make up matter are constantly in motion
Temperature Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of all the particles in an object
Thermometer an instrument used to measure temperature
Thermal energy Thermal Energy is the total kinetic energy of all the particles of a substance.
Heat In science, heat is the energy transferred from an object at higher temperature to an object at lower temperature.
Calorie One calorie = the amt of energy needed to raise 1 g of water by 1 ºC
Conduction the transfer of energy as heat through a material
Conductor A conductor is a material that transfers heat very well.
