Frontal Lobe | Lobe deals with complex thinking, problem solving, speech production. |
Parietal Lobe | Lobe deals with processing temperature, pain, and your body's position. |
Temporal Lobe | Lobe deals with memory, music, and object recognition. As well as analyzing auditory sound and speech processing. |
Occipital Lobe | Lobe deals with processing and analyzing visual information. |
Cerebellum (Subcortical Structure) | This structure deals with the motor system and allows the body to make smooth + coordinated movements or learn new ones. |
Amygdala (Subcortical Structure) (Limbic System) | This structure deals with regulation of emotion, fear, threat, stress, reward and arousal. |
Hippocampus (Subcortical Structure) (Limbic System) | This structure deals with long-term memory and spatial navigation. Creates long and short term memories. |
Thalamus (Subcortical Structure) | This structure deals with relaying information between the body and brain. It regulates consciousness, emotional behaviors, motor control, and cognition. |
Hypothalamus (Subcortical Structure) | This structure deals with maintaining homeostasis with regulation of temperature, blood pressure, hunger, sleep. |
