Carrying capacity the maximum population size of a biological species that can be sustained by a specific environment
Abiotic components or factors that are non-living; water, air, sunlight, temperature, rocks, etc
Biotic living things
Limiting factors factors that are capable of limiting a process, such as the growth, abundance, or distribution of a population of organisms in an ecosystem: such things as food, shelter, predators, disease, etc
Competition an interaction between organisms or species in which both require the same resource
Producers organisms that acquire their energy from sunlight and materials from nonliving sources
Adaptation a trait that improves an organism's ability to survive in its environment; trait can be structural, physiological or behavioral
