Analyze and Interpret Experiments

TermDefinition
Experimental Variables An aspect of the experiment that changes during the course of the experiment.
Control The portion of an experiment that you are not changing.
Surface Tension A thin film that stretches across the surface of every liquid.
Blind Study Experiments in which the participants do not know whether they are a part of the control group.
Double Blind Study Experiments in which neither the participants nor the people analyzing the results know who is in the control group.
Pain Threshold The point at which a person become aware of pain.
Subjective Data being collected depending to some extent on the opinions of people.
Objective Data where there is no way opinion can affect the experiment.
Dissolve When a substance seems to disappear into another.
Independent Variable Variable that is change.
Dependent Variable Variable affect by the change.
Solution A mixture when one or more solutes dissolve in a solvent.
Solute The lesser amount in a solution.
Solvent The larger amount in a solution.
X Axis The horizontal line in a coordinate system
Y Axis The vertical line in a coordinate system
