Digestive Enzymes Oral enzymes help to kill invaders
Cilia cilia in the trachea and lungs are consistently waving upwards. Invaders are trapped in mucus found here and are pressed up and out. (smoking kills cilia)
Stomach Acid has PH of around 2 and works to kills invaders
Nasal Mucosa & cilia The mucus and cilia (small hairs) in the nose trap invaders
Phagocytes these cells patrol the lungs and eat/ digest invaders
Normal Flora live on the skin and in intestines, they take up space and secrete chemicals to foreign invaders out.
Secretion Urine, vaginal discharge (in females) and lactation work to flush out organisms.
