Wavelength The horizontal distance between two successive crests or troughs (e.g. in a water wave)
Crest Highest point (or peak) of a wave.
Amplitude This is the height from the center to the crest or trough in a wave. The greatest distance away from the resting point.
No/Zero net motion When an object moves but does not change location. The duck moved up and down
Transverse A moving wave that is made up of oscillations happening perpendicular to the direction of energy transfer
Trough Lowest point (or valley) of a wave.
midline/ resting position Water level at rest or midline
