lymph vessels thin walled, vein-like tubes that carry lymph and have valves to prevent backflow of lymph
lymph nodes lymph is filtered through these in one direction to the heart. small beans, any foreign material is engulfed and destroyed by leucocytes. only clean fluids can exit the node
