Examples of decomposers worms, ants, beetles
Food Chain a model that shows the flow of energy in an ecosystem sun--> cactus--> desert mouse--> fennec fox
the Sun all food chains start with this. This is the source of energy for ANY ecosystem
examples of consumers hawks, snakes, dogs, and raccoons
Aquatic in this type of ecosystem, living things depend on WATER for survival
Terrestrial in this type of ecosystem, living things depend on LAND for survival
Pond an aquatic ecosystem: a body of water that is surrounded by land. It is smaller than a lake. Living things include beavers, cattails, and trout.
Lake An aquatic ecosystem: A body of water that is surrounded by land. It is bigger than a pond. Living things include bass, turtles, and ducks.

desert A Terrestrial Ecosystem: An area that receives less than 10 inches of rain per year. Living things include snakes, camels, and cacti.
grassland A Terrestrial Ecosystem: An area mostly made of grasses because there is not enough rainfall for trees. Living things include lions, cheetahs, and grasses.
rainforest A Terrestrial Ecosystem: An area that receives more than 80 inches of rain per year. Living things include tree frogs, monkeys, and bananas.
