Deciphering the Code

TermDefinition
Ankylosis Stiffness or immobility in joints caused by abnormal fusion of bones.
Cardiomyopathy A disease of the heart muscle that affects its size, shape, and function.
Hypertension Elevated blood pressure consistently measured over time.
Atherosclerosis A condition characterized by the buildup of fatty deposits within arteries.
Ischemia Reduced blood flow to a part of the body, often leading to tissue damage.
Osteoarthritis Wear and tear damage to the cartilage of a joint, leading to pain and stiffness.
Arthroscopy A minimally invasive procedure used to visualize and treat joint issues.
Myocarditis Inflammation of the heart muscle, often due to infections.
Electrocardiogram (ECG) A test that measures the electrical activity of the heart.
Endocarditis An infection of the inner lining of the heart chambers and valves.
Angina Pectoris Chest pain or discomfort caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.
Valvuloplasty A procedure to repair a damage heart valve.
Stenosis Abnormal narrowing of a vessel or valve, often leading to restricted blood flow.
Palpitations Noticeable heartbeats that may fell rapid, fluttering, or pounding.
Arrhythmia An abnormal rhythm of the heart, which may affect its ability to pump blood effectively.
