Sagittal plane The sagittal plane divides the body into left and right sections, which can be either equal (midsagittal) or unequal (parasagittal).
Coronal Plane The coronal plane, also known as the frontal plane, divides the body into anterior (front) and posterior (back) sections.
Transverse Plane The transverse plane is an anatomical plane that divides the body into upper (superior) and lower (inferior) parts, typically slicing horizontally through the body.
Example of a Ionic Bond Typically found in compounds like sodium chloride (table salt).
What is the Epidermis layer of the skin ? The epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin, providing a protective barrier against environmental elements and pathogens.
What is the purpose of melanocytes? Melanocytes are specialized skin cells that produce melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color. They play a crucial role in protecting the skin from UV radiation damage by absorbing and dissipating harmful rays.
What are two highly adapted types of connective tissues that make up the skeleton? Bone & Cartilage
What are Articulations? Articulations are the points of contact between bones that either stabilize the parts of the skeleton or make movement possible
The muscle that flexes the semipronated or semisupinated forearm is the: Brachioradialis
Bone marrow is a specialized type of soft, diffuse connective tissue called Myeloid tissue
