Term | Definition |

Nasal Cavity | The space behind the nose that filters, warms, and moistens air. |
Pharynx | The passage that connects the nasal and oral cavities to the larynx, involved in swallowing and breathing. |
Larynx | Often referred to as the voice box, it contains the vocal cords and is crucial for sound production. |
Trachea | The windpipe that connects the larynx to the bronchi, allowing air to enter the lungs. |
Bronchi | The two main branches of the trachea that lead into each lung, further dividing into smaller bronchioles. |
Esophagus | A muscle tube that connects the throat to the stomach, facilitating the movement of food. |
Stomach | The organ where food is mixed with gastric juices for digestion. |
Small Intestine | A crucial organ for nutrient absorption, it’s divided into three parts: duodenum, jejunum, and ileum. |
Large Intestine | The part of the digestive system that absorbs water and forms waste products. |
Pancreas | An organ that produces digestive enzymes and hormones, including insulin. |
Kidneys | Organs responsible for filtering blood and producing urine. |
Ureters | Tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. |
Bladder | A muscle sac that stores urine until it is excreted. |
Urethra | The duct through which urine is expelled from the body. |
Nephron | The functional unit of the kidney that filters blood produces urine. |
Testes | The organ that produce sperm and testosterone. |
Ductus Deferens | The tube that transports sperm from the testes to the urethra. |
Penis | The external organ that delivers sperm into the female reproductive tract. |
Prostate | A gland that produces fluid that nourishes and transports sperm. |
Urethra (again) | As in the urinary system, it serves a dual purpose in males by also carrying semen. |
