TermDefinition
Map scales The relationship between a distance on a map and the corresponding distance on the earth
USGS topographic map symbols Various pictures or symbols that represent things and landmarks on a map
Distances Tells about time indirectly in terms of reaching a particular place by a fixed scale ratio of Distances
Azimuths The azimuth of heading is the horizontal angle measured clockwise from a meridian line, which points toward true north.
Bearings A bearing describes a line as heading north or south, and deflected some number of degrees towards the east or west
Public land survey system A way to divide portions of land in the United States
