reflect | to strike a surface and bounce back in the opposite direction |
refract | to bend light as it passes through a material |
appearance | the way something looks |
lens | a piece of transparent material that may be curved to focus rays of light |
opaque | objects that light does not pass through; not clear |
translucent | permitting or transmitting the passage of some but not all light |
transparent | objects that all light passes through; clear |
concave | hollowed or rounded inward like the inside of a bowl |
convex | curved or rounded outward like the exterior of a sphere or circle |
strikes | to come into contact with (When light strikes an object, it can be reflected, absorbed, or transmitted) |
transmitted | passed through a medium |
