MEDICAL TERMS

Lymphadenopathy Swelling or enlargement of lymph nodes
Thymoma A tumor that forms in the thymus, an organ in the upper chest that's part of the lymphatic system
Splenomegaly An enlargement of the spleen
Tonsillitis A medical condition that occurs when the tonsils become inflamed or swollen
Hyperthyroidism Medical condition that occurs when the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone, which speeds up the body's metabolism
Pancreatitis Inflammation of the pancreas
Myocardial Infarction A medical emergency where your heart muscle begins to die because it isn't getting enough blood flow.
Hypertension A condition where the pressure of blood in the body's blood vessels is consistently too high
Aneurysm A bulge or ballooning in the wall of a blood vessel that can occur anywhere in the body but is most common in the aorta or brain
Arrhythmia An irregular heartbeat, or an abnormality in the heart's rhythm or rate:
Thyroid A gland located beneath the larynx (voice box) that makes thyroid hormone and calcitonin.
Pancreas A glandular organ located in the abdomen
Spleen An organ that is part of the lymphatic and blood systems
Thymus The organ primarily responsible for the production and maturation of immune cells
Lymphatic vessels thin tubes that carry lymph fluid throughout the body, collecting it from tissues and returning it to the bloodstream
