Media relations a strategy of working with the news media in order to get out information about an organization's events and activities in local news outlets, such as newspapers, television and radio newscasts, and magazines
Gatekeeper In the news media, determines what you read, view, and hear about the world around you
Newsworthiness news value; what stories the media will cover in their newscasts and newspapers
News release information about an organization's activities, interesting news, or important events; sent to news media to announce something that has news value; provides reporters with basics they need to develop a news story; also called a press release
Public service announcement a free advertisement that radio and television stations air or newspapers and magazines print to highlight information about nonprofit organizations' programs, activities, or events
Communication points the most important issues or points you hope to address and get across to the reporter during the interview
