Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) Antidepressants like Effexor and Cymbalta.
Benzodiazepines Anti-anxiety medications like Xanax, Valium, and Ativan.
Antipsychotics Medications like Risperdal, Abilify, and Clozapine for schizophrenia.
Mood stabilizers Lithium and Depakote, used for bipolar disorder.
Stimulants Medications like Adderall and Ritalin, used for ADHD.
Beta-blockers Sometimes used to treat performance anxiety.
Tardive dyskinesia A side effect of long-term antipsychotic use, causing involuntary movements.
Anxiolytics Medications that reduce anxiety, such as benzodiazepines.
Atypical antipsychotics Newer antipsychotic drugs like Abilify, Seroquel, and Zyprexa.
Depakote (Valproate) A mood stabilizer for bipolar disorder.
Disulfiram (Antabuse) A medication that causes severe reactions when alcohol is consumed, used in alcohol dependency treatment.
MAOIs (Monoamine oxidase inhibitors) Older antidepressants that require dietary restrictions (e.g., Nardil, Parnate).
Naltrexone A medication used to treat alcohol and opioid dependence.
Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) An older class of antidepressants like Amitriptyline and Nortriptyline.
Trazodone An antidepressant often used for sleep disorders.
Vivitrol A long-acting form of naltrexone for opioid and alcohol addiction.
