what is social persuasion? others telling you that you are competent
what is modeling? seeing someone you consider to be similar to you have success
what is locus of control? the extent to which people perceive outcomes internally vs externally influenced
what is internal locus of control? believing that rewards or punishments in life are produced by your own actions
what is external locus of control? believing that rewards or punishments in life occur quite independently of whatever you do
what is learned helplessness becoming passive because a belief ones efforts have no effect; hopelessness or resignation over a perceived lack of control
