What is the definition of epidermis? the outermost layer, the one that is visible. The epidermis is made of large cells called squamous cells.
What is the definition of the dermis? The layer under the epidermis. This layer is thicker and has fewer cells and more thick fibers to give the skin strength and flexibility. Houses hair follicles, nerves and glands (sweat & oil).
