EEG Electroencephalography - used to examine electrical activity of the brain
Lumbar Puncture (LP) collecting spinal fluid by inserting needle into lumbar region (spinal tap)
MRA Magnetic Resonance Angiography - examine blood vessels
Transcranial Doppler Sonography imaging technique that uses soundwaves sent through the skull
Tonic-Clonic Seizure seizure that switch between tightening and muscle spasm
CVA Cerebrovascular Accident - accident involving the blood vessels of the brain
Stroke loss of brain function caused by interruption of blood supply to the brain
TIA Transient Ischemic Attack - ministroke (goes away within 24hrs)
Embolus foreign object
Psychosis mind condition
Neurosis nerve condition
Schizophrenia mental illness characterized by delusions, hallucinations and disordered speech
narcolepsy sudden, uncontrolled sleepiness
dysphoria negative emotional state
ALS Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gerig's disease) - degenerative disease of the CNS causing loss of muscle control
