Case Study | In-depth of one group/individual, data gathered through multiple methods |
Naturalistic Observation | Data gathered by watching participants in their natural environment, no interaction |
Meta-analysis | Combining the results of multiple studies to create one thesis |
Correlation | Strength and direction of a relationship, 2 variables observed without altering one, positive or negative |
Institutional Review Board (IRB) | Evaluates and approves research, ensures guidelines are followed |
Informed Consent/Assent | Permission given by participant before, participant fully understands the situation |
Debrief | Explanation ater, must explain the main deception/lie |
Protection from Harm | Minimal harm, with IRB approval |
Anonymous | The procter doesn't know who the participants are, no personal info collected |
Confidential | Researches know about the participants, but their personal info is removed from the offcial report |
Experimental | Independent variable, random group assignments, one control group |
