NZ Paramedic Drugs.

What is the IV Naloxone dose? 0.1-0.4mg IV every 2-3 min as required.
What is the IM Naloxone dose? 0.8 IM and repeat every 20min as required.
What is the IN Naloxone dose? 1.6mg and repeat every 20min as required.
What is the IV paediatric naloxone dose ? 0.01mg/kg IV and repeat every 2-3min as required.
What is the the IM paediatric naloxone dose? 0.02mg/kg IM and repeat every 20 min if required.
What is the IN paediatric naloxone dose? 0.04mg/kg and repeat every 20 min if required.
What type of drug is Naloxone? Opoid antagonist.
What is Naloxone used for? To counter the effects of opoid overdose. Often used to reverse respiratory depression.
What are the contraindications for naloxone? Allergy.
Paracetemol - how many mg per kg? 20mg/kg
What is the dosage for salbutemol? 5mg in nebuliser - @8 liter per min - as much as you need.
What is the dosage for glucagon? <25kg 0.5mg IM >25kg 1.0mg IM
What is the dosage for 10% dextrose? 2ml/kg
What is the dosage for normal saline? 20ml/kg
What would the initial dose of IV midazolam be for a 5yr old child having a seizure? 2mg Weight = (Age X 2) + 10 Weight = 20kg Midazolam IV for a child: 0.1mg/kg Therefore, 0.1 X 20 = 2mg
Morphine protocols state the normal IV dose for adults is...? 1-5mg evry 3-5min.
What is the dose per/kg for peds? 0.1mg/kg every 3-5 min.
When administering morphine it is wise to have naloxone close by in case of overdose. What is the paediatric dose of naloxone for IV, IM and intranasal administrations? IV - 0.01mg/kg IM - 0.02mg/kg Intranasal - 0.04mg/kg
