prone | The patient is abdomen,spine straight, legs extended, and arms flexed on either side of the head

Semi-flowers | The patient is on back with knees slightly flexed, and the head of the bed is elevated 30 to 45.

Slider | Device with slippery, low-friction surface that is used for moving patients.

Spasticity | sudden, frequent, involuntary muscle contractions that impair functions.

Splint | type of orthosis used to maintain position and prevent contractures of the arm and hand.

Tronchanter roll | rolled sheet or bath blanket placed under the patient extending from waist to mid-thigh: positioned against the hip to prevent lateral hip rotation.
