| contraindication | situations in which something is not indicated, inappropriate, or potentailly dangerous.

| full weight-bearing (FWB) | the ability to stand on both legs.

| gait belt | when it is used to assist with ambulation.

| sitting (lateral) transfer | the patient sits throughout the transfer, such as when a sliding board is used.

| sliding board | is a plastic or wooden board about two feet long that has a slippery surface. It is used for a sitting (lateral) transfer.

| standing transfer | the patient stands during the transfer with the help of one or two nursing assistances.

|
||||
| weight-bearing (WB) | the ability to stand on one or both legs.
