Acromegaly Condition that results in elongation and enlargement of the bones of the head and etremities in adults, results of hypersecretion of growth hormone (GH) in the pituitary gland; also called gigantism. CAUTION
Addison's disease Condition caused by hyposecretion of adrenocortical hormone (cortisol); increased pigmentation of the skin, weakness, and weight loss may occur. INDICATION
Adenocarcinoma Cancerous tumor in an endocrine gland that is able to produce the hormones secreted by that gland; a causee of some hypersecretion pathologies. GENERAL CONTRAINDICATION
Cushing's syndrome Condition that results from hypersecretion of cortisol in the adrenal cortex. INDICATION
Diabetes insipidus (DI) Disorder caused by inadequate secretion of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) by the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland. CAUTION
Diabetes mellitus (DM) Chronic disorder of carbohydrate metabolism in whcih the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or the body does not peoperly use the hormone, resulting in hyperglycemia and glycosuria. CAUTION
Dwarfism Condition of being abnormally short in height. CAUTION
Goiter Enlargement of the thyroid gland. GNERAL CONTRAINDICATION
Grave's disease Condition resulting from hypersecretion of thyroid homrmones T3 AND T4, of the thyroid gland. INDICATION
Hashimoto's disease Chronic form of thyroiditis resulting in hyposecretion of thyroid hormones T3 AND T4. INDICATION
Hirsutism Condition of having an excessive amount of body hair. NONE
Hypoparathyroidism Condition resulting from hyposecretion of PTH inthe parathyroid gland. INDICATION
Hypothyroidism Condition caused by deficient thyroid gland secretions of thyroid homrones T3 AND T4 resulting in lowered basal metabolism rate, dry skin, slow pulse, low blood, sluggishness, and goiter. INDICATION
Myxedem Condition resulting from hyposecretion of thyroid homrones T3 AND T4 in the thyroid gland. INDICATION
Thyrotoxicosis Overproduction of the thyroid hormones T3 AND T4 in the thyroid gland resulting in rapid heart action, tremors, enlarged thyroid gland, exophthalmos, and weight loss. INDICATION
