TermDefinition
Associative leArning Learning that certain events occur together
Respondent behavior Behavior that occurs automatically
Operant behavior Behavior that opperates on the environment producing consequences Example giving a dog treat so they repeat the behavior
Classsical conditoning Learn to associate two stimuli allowing us to anticipate events
Unconditioned stimulus Stimulus that automatically triggers unconditioned response( untaught automatic response)
Neutral stimulus Stimulus that produces no response before conditioning
Generalization Respond to similar stimulu like kid whose abused getting anxiety when seeing angry faces
Postive renforcement Increasing behaviors by presenting positive renforcers
Negative renforcement Increasing behavior by stopping negative stimuli
Primary reinforcer Satisfies biological need Like getting food
Conditioned reinforce Gains its power through association with a primary reinforcer Like getting good grades to get rewarded
Fixed Ratio Reinforces response after specified number of responses
Variable ratio Reinforces response after unpredictable number of responsed
Fixed interval Only afte a specified time has elapsed
Taste aversion If you become ill after eating something you will avoid it
Latent learning We can learn from experience with or without reinforcement
Observational learning Example with bobo doll
