SEE | - Think "its not all about me" - Trust that there is plenty for everyone - Know that its possible to win in a way others win too. - Believe that no one has to lose |
DO | - Balance courage with consideration - Feel happy for the success of others - Share credit and recognition - Make a deposit in other people's emotional bank accounts. - Look for opportunities to partner and collaborate. |
GET | - More shared wins - Faster, better solutions to problems - Richer, more lasting relationships |
WIN-LOSE | A situation where you can only win and everyone else must lose. |
LOSE-WIN | A situation where you must lose and someone else must win. |
LOSE-LOSE | A situation where everyone must lose and no one wins. |
WIN | A situation where someone only considers themselves and winning, no one else matters to them. |
SCARCITY | The belief that the world is like a pie and there is only so much to go around. |
ABUNDANCE | The belief that there is plenty to go around for everyone. |
NO DEAL | Instead of agreeing on both winning, it is decided to not compete or for either party to win. |
DEPOSIT | Depositing into someones emotional bank account with actions or words that positively effect them |
WITHDRAWL | Withdrawing from someones emotional bank account with actions or words that negatively affect them. |
FIND OUT WHAT A DEPOSIT IS FOR THE OTHER PERSON | What you think is a deposit for the other person may in fact be a withdrawal in his or her mind. You won't know unless you ask. |
DO SMALL ACTS OF KINDNESS | A second deposit is to treat people with kindness. |
KEEP PROMISES | Make good on your word and be very careful before using words "I promise and I commit." |
BE LOYAL | When someone shares something to you in confidence, keep it that way. |
SET CLEAR EXPECTATIONS | Do not leave things fuzzy with people. |
APOLOGIZE | If you are in the wrong, admit it. |
GIVE FEEDBACK | Sincere and honest feedback is a deposit. |
FORGIVE | Learn to forgive and forget. |
APPEAL TO AUTHORITY | Relying on a trustworthy authority with expertise on a certain topic. |
CAUSE AND EFFECT | Just because A happened before B does not mean A was the cause for the outcome of B. |
PROBABILITY | The probability of outcomes vary on the decisions made and must be critically examined. |
FALSE ANALOGY | Analogies cannot be used to prove anything, they are not fact. |
