post-synaptic neuron | The neuron that recieves the impulse across the synapse with the help of the neurotransmitters |
Endorphones & enkephalins | natural morphine- like chemicals that regulate pain perception. Natural pain killers in the body |

Hypothalamus | Forms the anterior floor of the third ventricle |
Cerebellum | located just superior and posterior to the fourth ventricle |
Cerebrum | Largest part of the brain, & center of intellect |
Cerebral cortex | Outer layer of gray matter |
Gray matter | contains cell bodies and unmyelinated fibers of neurons |
White matter | contains myelinated nerve fibers |
corpus callosum | a large band of white matter that connect the R and L hemisoheres of the cerebrum |
Cauda equina | located at the scral region or lower region of the spinal cord |

produced by the choroids plexuses | Ceebrospinal fliud |
Alzherimers disease | degenerative disorderof the brain that involves shrinking and gradual death of neural tissue |
ALS | Symptoms include weakness, fatigue, miscle spasm and muscle atrophy |
MS | destruction of myelin sheaths around the motor and sensor neuron in the CNS. Includes eye pain |
Parkinsons disease | degenerative disease of the substantia nigra cells in the brain |
