pessary An object or elixir placed into the vagina to block sperm (used a LOT in the ancient times)
coitus interruptus When a guy pulls out before finishing
withdrawal method When a guy pulls out before finishing (same as coitus interruptus) - super unreliable
sterilization A type of surgery that permanently blocks sperm from fertilizing an ovum
tubal ligation A type of surgery where the fallopian tubes are cut, tied, clipped, or blocked to prevent sperm & an egg from joining
vasectomy A type of surgery where the vas deferens is cut off/tied, to prevent sperm from mixing in with semen
continuous abstinence Not having sex period #GodsChild
fluid-free sexual behavior Avoid mixing bodily fluids, so no unprotected, anal, or oral sex
selective abstinence Safe sexual behaviors, avoiding vaginal, oral, and anal sex
male condom #rubber, goes on a penis before sex
female condom Go inside the vagina, bigger then male condoms, expand naturally
diaphragm A flexible cup that goes into the vagina
oral contraceptives (pill) Birth control pill, must be taken everyday at the same exact time
minipill For women who are breastfeeding, progestin only
combination pill Estrogen and progestin, safe for women under 35
spermicides Substance that kills sperm
hormonal implants Small tubes that have progestin, they go into the upper arm of a women
emergency contraception (EC) Pills that can be taken last minute
intrauterine device (IUD) Small T-shaped device that goes into the uterus
fertility awareness methods Calendar, cervical mucus, basal body temp, postovulation
natural methods Not having sex when a women is fertile
TwoDay Method Taking notes of any secretions to check if a women is fertile
Basal Body Temperature Taking your body temperature every morning before getting out of bed
