What does the description of anthropology concern itself with and how did it develop? Anthropology is the study of humankind, looking at the origin, behavior, physical characteristics, social structures, and cultural development of humans across different societies and time periods
what are anthropological research questions informed by? A desire to understand how individuals create their lives, beliefs, and actions within a shared context.
What are the ethical responsibilities of the anthropologist? To consider the potential impact of both their research and the communication or dissemination of the results of their research.

How did race become socially constructed? Race was created and defined by social, cultural, and historical processes within a society, often used to establish systems of power and inequality.
How is gender socially constructed? The meanings, values, and characteristics associated with being male or female are not inhering but are culturally assigned and learned through social interactions.
How do anthropologist study the body and selves? By examining how different cultures perceive, modify, and interpret the physical body.
Culture variation in experiencing bodies each society assigns unique meanings and values to body parts, and appearances, influenced by their cultural norms, social hierarchies, and environmental factors.
Why do anthropologist study religion? Anthropologist study religion to understand how religious beliefs and practices shape a culture, including their social functions, impact on societal norms, and role in creating meaning and community within a society.
How do anthropologist study religion? through ethnographic fieldwork
What does kinship organize in society? Kinship creates a network of social and biological relationships between individuals.
How do anthropologist study economy? By focusing on the production, distribution and consumptions of goods and services within a society. They also examine how these practices are shaped by cultural values and social relationships.
How do anthropologist study language? They look at the similarities with grammar, usage, and words while also looking at body language and noise/ tone of voice
How is language related to culture? Language is a means of preserving and transmitting cultural knowledge, traditions, and history.
How is language related to identity? Language can show our worldview and how we receive ourselves and others.
Why is race sometimes called a myth? Race is called a myth because it is not biologically constructed, it is a social construct meant to oppress certain groups of people.
How do anthropologist study race? By examining the social construction of racial categories, examine how different cultures and societies define and categorize race.
How do anthropologist study interconnectedness of the world? By using a holistic approach, primarily through long-term ethnographic fieldwork.
